Board of Directors

The Arkansas AIMS Board of Directors is characterized by diversity, experience, and a variety of backgrounds to bring the greatest possible state influence to bear on the success of AR AIMS, Inc. The board represents the private sector interests, legislative leaders, foundation officers, and institutions of public and higher education. All are bound together by their common interest in improving education, in particular, the preparation of students who will participate in the math and science pipeline to STEM careers.

Jill Clogston
AR AIMS Board President
Education Renewal Zone (ERZ) Director at Arkansas State University. She is also the Director of the A-State Advanced Placement Summer Institute. As a Past-President of AGATE, she remains active on its Legislative Committee.
Mr. John Burgess
AR AIMS Board Treasurer
is the co-founder and President of Mainstream Technologies. A technology services company headquartered in Little Rock. He is passionate about the value of STEM-based careers for individuals and the Arkansas economy. He works with organizations at different stages in the education continuum to develop and support a pipeline of STEM learners and workers.
Dr. Brent Miller
AR AIMS Board Secretary
Currently, Brent serves as the state director for Odyssey of the Mind in Arkansas and has spent many years serving on both the State Board for Gifted Education and various building administration constituency organizations. He has also served on a multi-state panel for the Chief Council of State School Officers related to the educator pipeline. Dr. Ann Robinson
AR AIMS Board Member
is a professor in the department of Teacher Education/Education Leadership and the founding director of the Jodie Mahony Center for Gifted Education. In 2001, Dr. Robinson founded the Mahony Center - a multi-purpose unit serving teachers and children through graduate and professional development programs for gifted education. For years, the center has also served as a hub for the Arkansas Advanced Placement Summer Institute and coordinates the Summer Laurate University for Youth.
Dr. Hernandez
AR AIMS Board Member
is the Executive Director of AAEA. Hernandez's background includes serving as state superintendent at the Arkansas Department of Education since July 2017. Prior to that, he served as superintendent of the Hot Springs School District, superintendent of the Danville School District, and is a former Deputy Commissioner and Assistant Commissioner at the Arkansas Department of Education.
Jeremy Mangrum
AR AIMS Board Member
currently serves as the Superintendent Elkins School District, a position he has held since 2018. Prior to that he worked as high school principal and assistant superintendent of the Paragould School District. He has been a member of the AIMS Board of Directors since 2018.
Dr. Charlotte Rainey Green Parham
AR AIMS Board Member
is a national consultant and author who currently serves as an Assistant Professor in the College of Education at the University of Central Arkansas. Her research focus is on education equity and school readiness. Dr. Green is the executive director for Arkansas Imagination Library and the founder of Arkansas Preschool Plus. Both are nonprofit organizations that support school readiness.
Representative Andrew Collins
AR AIMS Board Member
is serving his third term in the Arkansas House. He represents District 73, which includes portions of Pulaski County. For the 94th General Assembly, Rep. Collins serves on the House Judiciary Committee and the House City, County, and Local Affairs.

Rep. Collins is an attorney who works in real estate for Cypress Properties. He grew up in Little Rock and graduated from Duke University and Columbia Law School. In between college and law school, he worked in the AmeriCorps VISTA national service program. Rep. Collins has been involved with several civic and professional organizations, including President of the Board of Directors of Our House, the UA-Pulaski Tech Foundation Board, and Leadership Greater Little Rock.
