AR AIMS provides support for courses that “feed” into AP courses, from Middle School (Grade 6 math and Grade 7 accelerated math) through high school courses (Algebra 1 through Pre-Calculus). AR AIMS partners with the National Math and Science Initiative (NMSI) and its Laying the Foundation (LTF) program to bring teachers high-quality activities that are designed to extend student thinking and increase rigor to help prepare students for higher-level math courses.
In the summer of 2021, master teachers from around Arkansas created the AR AIMS Math Preview Site for math courses from Grade 6 through Pre-Calculus using the LTF resources and supplementing with guided notes, slideshow presentations, practice, assessments, and other activities that are targeted towards the AR Math Standards for each course.
Teachers who attend our Summer LTF Infused Math Workshops are given access to all of these resources and receive training and strategies on implementing these resources into their math courses. Schools who participate in active AR AIMS services and whose teachers attend our summer workshops receive mentoring services throughout the school year to assist them in implementing our strategies and resources in their classroom.
Teachers who attend our summer workshops also receive newsletters throughout the year that provide tips, resources, site updates, and other information to keep them informed and ensure they are using the most up-to-date resources and strategies.
