Data Literacy
Students must analyze data through both charts and graphs in order to properly interpret scientific phenomena.  This lesson allows the instructor to guide students through this process to reinforce concepts and skills learned in previous science classes and helps students rethink misconceptions about scientific data analysis. (SEP 4, 5, 7, & 8)

Case Study: A Cool Glass of Water
This introductory lab can be used to allow students to begin the year working through the scientific process while addressing the standard CI-PS1-3.  Students make predictions and draw models to help better understand the phenomena introduced to them in the case study then design an experiment to test out their predictions.  After experimentation, students reevaluate their original model and design an argument as they interpret their findings.
